The principal roles have now been filled (click here for details), and the Arcadians are already making this show their own as it takes shape in rehearsals.
Expect something a bit different as the Arcadians have expanded the musical’s original cast of 10 to incorporate a company of around 40 adults and children. They will also be adding some local flavour to the story with a Birmingham backdrop.
Godspell will be on at the Crescent Theatre, Birmingham from Tues 4th – Sat 8th October 2011 (nightly at 7.30pm and also with a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday).
Tuesday’s performance will be signed by an interpreter for the deaf. This is something that is not often seen on the amateur stage, but which we hope will allow many more people to enjoy the excitement of the theatre.

Sadly the whorehouse has shut it doors for the last time, but it was great fun while it lasted. Thanks to everyone who was involved in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”, or who came along to support us. This is a really lively show, with a storyline that is both funny and sad, and with some great music that you will be singing along to by the end.

PPS As the name suggests, the subject matter is a little bit more risqué than in our other recent productions (and the script contains some swearing) so it may not be suitable for young children. If in any doubt, please feel free ask us for more info.

We are always on the lookout for new members to join us on stage or help out behind the scenes, so if you have a desire to get involved in the theatre why not take the plunge and start something new for 2011? No rest for the wicked though! Rehearsals for our next production (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas from 5-9 April 2011 at the Crescent Theatre) will start on Tuesday 2 November 2010 at 7.30pm. All ages and abilities are welcome (as long as you can hold a tune in a chorus) but we are especially looking for men to play footballers and other townspeople who frequent the ranch.
