We regularly organise fundraising events to help with the cost of our productions, and to support other local causes.
Our nominated charity during this production was Action For Children’s ‘Birmingham Young Carers’ project based in Ladywood, Birmingham.
In October 2013 we organised a ‘Nuns-on-the-run’ sponsored event which raised over £200 for this great cause. Combined with a share of the money raised from our raffle during show week and from performing at a Christmas lunch, we were able to top this up to £500, which will go a long way to help the local youngsters who are helped by the organisation.
Thanks to the generosity of two of our members, a group of young carers were also able to attend a performance of The Sound of Music and we hear they had a great time.
